Emergency assistance is available to parishioners and transients for food, transportation and other limited emergency needs, after all other resources have been exhausted. Contact the Coordinator of Justice and Outreach at (651) 789-3181 or other member of the Pastoral staff.

Referals are made to The Christian Cupboard, area County Financial Assistance Programs or other appropriate agencies to help solve the emergencies.

Christian Cupboard is located at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd., Woodbury, MN 55125, 651-738-2338. The Christian Cupboard is a non-profit organization that provides food for those in need. It is open Fridays, 9:00AM until 1:30PM, and on the second Thursday of the month from 5:30PM to 7:00PM.

Guardian Angels makes contributions to local faith-based organizations that serve our community though plate collections (first weekend of the month) and through tithing from our Fall Festival proceeds.  For more information on these grants contact the Coordinator of Justice and Outreach at the Parish Office.

Youth Services Bureau. http://www.ysb.net/. Located in Stillwater, Woodbury and Cottage Grove. Mission: provide early intervention alternatives for youth and families to realize their strengths, resolve problems and create positive futures. The Christian Cupboard in a non-profit organization .that provides food for those in need, living in Woodbury, Oakdale, Landfall and South Maplewood or referred by Guardian Angels Church. Open on Fridays, 9:00AM until 1:30PM, and on the second Thursday of the month from 5:30PM to 7:00PM. They also serve as a Holiday Bureau, gathering and distributing gifts at Christmastime. They also may help with gas vouchers if needed for work purposes and other needs.

Catholic Charities. Located at many different locations throughout the Twin Cities. They provide a wide range of social services for families. Central telephone is (612) 664-8500.

 

CHARITIES -- CLOTHING / THRIFT ITEMS

Joseph's Coat or Family Pathways. Thirft stores providing low-cost or free clothing for those in need. The contact information for Joseph's Coat is 1107 West 7th Street, Saint Paul MN, 651-291-2472. Bridging Inc provides the economically disadvantaged with a one-time gift of quality furniture and household items which help to stabilize and improve their lives while effectively using community resources. Through a network of over 200 social service agencies, eligible clients are referred to our warehouse for a once-in-a-lifetime shopping experience. They are located in Roseville and Bloomington. Their Roseville location is 1633 Terrace Dr. and they can be reached at 651-631-3255.
