Vatican II Series: "What is the Bible?"

Vatican II Series: "What is the Bible?"

Every Thursday, from 10/26/2023 to 11/16/2023, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Note: This is now meeting at 6:00 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. as it was previously scheduled.

Vatican II was and is the defining council for understanding what it means to be a Catholic in the modern world. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Vatican II gives an incredible witness to the power of the Gospel. Despite this, very few Catholics have read the profound documents from this holy council. Here at Guardian Angels, we are doing just that.

From the Council came four major documents. These can be simplified (albeit, somewhat crudely) to the questions: “What is the Church?”, “What is the Mass?”, “What is the Bible/Revelation” and “What is the Church’s role in the Modern World?”. Last spring, we covered Lumen Gentium, which addressed the question “What is the Church?”. I am excited to announce our second installment of our Vatican II on the document Dei Verbum, addressing the question of the Bible & Revelation. If you have ever wondered about how to discern what God is trying to say to you, how to interpret the Bible, who should be trusted in interpretation of Scripture, this series is perfect for you. Sessions start at 7:00 p.m.

Dates: October 26, November 9 &16
